Originally from Providence, RI, Katherine received her undergraduate degree in art from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, and her Master's degree from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia.

Katherine has taught at the Taubman Museum of Art, Hollins University Women's Center, Roanoke County Gifted Art Program and was a guest artist at the Roanoke College Copenhaver Summer Institute. She received the 2011 Woman of Achievement Award for the Arts from DePaul Community Resources.

She currently teaches art to adults and children in her private studio and with Young Audiences of Virginia. She loves her new studio overlooking the Grandin Village, and looks forward to sharing it with her community during Open Studios.
