Stories,
poetry, music and found objects trigger ideas for Kattenbraker's
mixed media sculptures. Clay--that lovely smooshy & impressionable
stuff is the favorite primary medium. Bright colored glazes over
oxides provide an aged quality for animals or make-believe creatures
or characters.
Working
as a self-taught artist and art instructor for children (10 years
in the Chicago area), Dreama appreciates the playful influence all
those children had on her creative process: expect mistakes and
learn to transform them, be silly, try again, never give up.
Dreama's work can be seen at Cheshire Gallery, Roanoke,VA.
